Amazon FBA Size Tiers 2026: Charts, Limits & the New Small Bulky Tier
Your size tier is the single most expensive attribute of your product: it sets the fulfillment fee on every unit you will ever ship. Amazon redrew the map on January 15, 2026, adding a new tier — here are the exact boundaries.
The 2026 tier chart
| Tier | Max weight | Max dimensions |
|---|---|---|
| Small standard | 16 oz | 15 × 12 × 0.75 in |
| Large standard | 20 lb | 18 × 14 × 8 in |
| Small Bulky (new) | 50 lb | longest side ≤ 37 in |
| Large Bulky | 50 lb | 59 × 33 × 33 in, girth ≤ 130 in |
| Extra-Large | 150 lb+ bands | above Large Bulky |
Dimensional weight: the hidden multiplier
For Large standard and above, Amazon bills the greater of actual weight and dimensional weight (L × W × H ÷ 139, in inches). A light but boxy product — a 24×18×12 inch item weighing 20 lb — bills at its dimensional weight of 37 lb. Air in your box is money out of your margin.
Why the new Small Bulky tier matters
Products with a longest side of 18–37 inches or weighing 20–50 lb previously paid Large Bulky rates. In 2026 they dropped into Small Bulky with fees 21–23% lower — a meaningful windfall for home, garden, and sporting goods sellers. Conversely, the boundaries are cliffs: a package half an inch over 0.75 in thick leaves Small standard and adds $0.30–0.80 to every unit. Measure your packaged product, not the product itself, and check where you stand before committing to packaging.
